The Early Readers Bible– Zonderkidz
Students gain a deeper understanding of who God is and that He loves each and everyone of us. Our focus is studying and defining important character traits using the lives of Bible Characters.
Language Arts:
Jolly Phonics - Sue Lloyd
Provides a thorough foundation for reading and writing; teaches the letter sounds in an enjoyable, multisensory way, and enables children to use them to read and write words.
Jolly Readers
Interesting storybooks for children who are just ready to read. Jolly Readers use controlled vocabulary so children can read words from their knowledge of the letter sounds in Jolly Phonics. Students are introduced to general fiction and nonfiction.
Phonemic Awareness - Michael Heggerty, Ed. D.
Phonemic Awareness (PA) is the understanding that spoken words are made up of individual sounds called phonemes. A child who is phonemically aware is able to isolate sounds, manipulate the sounds, and blend and segment the sounds into spoken and written words.
Handwriting Without Tears
This program teaches capital and lowercase letter and number formation. Children learn to print using hands-on materials and developmentally appropriate activities. Fine motor work prepares students for pencil and paper success in the student workbook.
Mathematics
A Beka Books
The students will learn the beginning mathematical skills through an “activity based approach to developing concepts” with the use of a variety of manipulatives.
