8th Grade Curriculum

Language Arts

Writing

Students will polish their essay writing skills by writing multi-paragraphed expository, persuasive, and narrative essays complete with thesis statements, effective introductions, non-repetitive conclusions, and parenthetical citations.  In addition, students will broaden their skills by using more sensory vocabulary in their essay and creative writing and by learning how to sentence combine.  Students will also complete a research paper.

Spanish I  (Second semester high school - Holt McDougal)

Spanish I (second semester) is designed to further train students to understand basic speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills.  It provides a balance of vocabulary, basic grammar concepts and culture of Spanish-speaking people and countries.
